From May 28 to June 28, 2026.
As a multidisciplinary artist, I favour hands-on work over conceptual thinking. Each material has something to say. But before starting a project, I need a conceptual anchor—whether linked to the material, the process, or the object itself. It’s this question that I try to answer through making.
For the Spin project, I wanted to explore how chance could enrich the creation of an artwork, especially its chromatic and formal complexity. Inspired by the book The Logic of Life: A History of Heredity, I set out to invite the process of Evolution, both chance and necessity, into the development of an abstract pictorial work.
By creating distinct “canvas units” based on the same graphic grid, I then assembled them randomly into triptychs and diptychs, making slight adjustments to bring them into visual coherence. Welcome to this joyful chaos—so much like life itself.
