"After his studies at the Beaux-arts de Bruxelles, in 1970, H.D. got into the comic strip profession as a drawer. He was quickly noticed by René Goscinny, the creator of Astérix. Then he collaborated on Spirou, founded les éditions Rossel, and became editor in chief of the Tintin newspaper on the request of the great Hergé himself. Meanwhile, he created for les éditions Fleuve Noir, doing a series of albums devoted to commissioner San-Antonio, to whom he finally gave a face.
1976: H.D. emigrated to Québec to first devote his attention to publishing, then to the production of animated series for television.
1999: H.D. put an abrupt halt to his TV production activities and put his heart and soul into his passion, his life-long yearning: painting.
Since 2003, he has taken part in many exhibitions, in Montréal, New-York and Paris.
2009: publication of the book ""Le Jardin Mystique"" in which the author, Alexandre de Bothuri, sheds light on the secrets of H.D.'s painting works.
2014 - 2015: participated as an artist-painter in Tours des arts de Brome-Missisquoi. "
