Changing the normal function of the family album, my work under the theme treating reminiscence holds a line with the principles of commemoration and proposes that we revisit the uses we have made of the vestiges of the past by borrowing pictures from a family – my family – a Quebec family from the 1950's. My work uses the formula of a genealogy tree since, by giving new life to old photos and combining them with other photos, new encounters are created and new frictions are caused among the different strata of cultural and historical contexts.
