Studio Sorge
Printmaker, painter, poet, teacher and registered art therapist. My church studio has a community printmaking studio where people can come for workshops, artists come and work on the press and the upstairs of my church studio is my painting workshop with some work on display. Visitors can call ahead and come for a visit.
My university degrees are in Science (botany), fine art , psychology art therapy and pedagogy.
Best known for my large botanical prints based on leaves of wild plants of Quebec and the Eastern Townships.
I have exhibited in many major cities off the world such as NYC, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Paris, Toronto, Vancouver, Damascus etc. Prizes and grants received: First prize of excellence in printmaking in pan-canadian exhibition, Papier I, Ottawa; Innovation prize in Printmaking, Acadia University exhibition, N.S.; Runner up, First prize Loto Quebec prize in printmaking, Long term painting grant, Cultural Affairs Qc.; Eight years of Quebec Culturel grants for the Co-op Estampille ( Founder), the first cooperative printmaking workshop in the Eastern Townships. Works in major collection such as: Loto Quebec, Bank Nationale Financial, Pratt & Whitney, Cheque de Soleil, and others. Galleries: Ottawa, Toronto, Paris, France.
